Children from Winmarleigh have been finding our about the First World War this week and making poppies for Remembrance.
Children in Class 2 thought about what life would be like in the trenches, they watched interviews and listened to diary extracts from soldiers on the front line then made trenches in the classroom and wrote about how it would feel. They produced some fantastic and moving poems which children read out in church.
Class 1 children made poppies to decorate the church ready for Remembrance Sunday.
Parents even got involved helping to decorate the school fence with poppies to mark 100 years since the end of World War 1.
The week was finished off with the Remembrance service at St Luke's Church in Winmarleigh where children shared their poems with the congregation.
