As part of the Science and Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum, Year 5 & 6 children will be covering aspects of Sex and Relationships Education on Monday 18th & 25th June and  2nd July.

We understand that this important part of the curriculum covers some sensitive issues and so we would like to invite you to a meeting where we will explain the content of the lessons, show some of the materials we will use and answer any questions you may have. The meeting will take place on Monday 30th April at 3:45pm. This meeting is for parents and carers only; children of any age will not be able to attend.

We will be using a resource called “Growing up… Growing wise” produced by the charity Lovewise. The resource is designed to teach pupils about the nature and purpose of the changes of puberty, to help them deal with these changes in a practical way and to encourage them to make wise decisions as they develop and mature. The lessons will also discuss relationships and marriage and teach about conception and birth in an age-appropriate way.
